Sohie Dahl has landed her own BBC cook show.
The model, 31, will cook her own recipes and reminisce about her childhood memories of food in the BBC Two series, which is being made by Jamie Oliver’s company Fresh One Productions.
And if sales of her cook book Miss Dahl’s Voluptuous Delights are anything to go by, the model-turned-author will be hot competition for Nigella, Gordon, Marco and co when the six-episode series hits screens next summer.
Sophie, who is dating jazz star Jamie Cullum, says: “For me, food is more than just fuel, it’s a joy and an adventure.”
She goes on: “Cooking often serves as an emotional barometer, and with this show we will run the gamut, from a solo dinner that suits melancholy, to a homecoming feast for 20; it’s cooking with an anecdotal thread, irreverent, unpredictable and not without flaw.”
Sophie’s other books The Man with the Dancing Eyes and Playing With Adults are based on her fling with Mick Jagger, and her volatile relationship with her mother.
The granddaughter of children’s author Roald Dahl, she shot to fame in the nineties as the traffic stopping body of Opium perfume’s billboard campaign.
